GENERAL DESCRIPTION :  This small lanceolate point has controlled pressure flaking, convex sides and a concave or notched basal edge. The blade in lenticular in cross section ; the stem is slightly contracting. Stem edges are not ground. Basal edges are often uneven and may be rounded to pointed.. The type site is at Keyhole reservoir in Northern Wyoming. This point was named by Richard Page Wheeler { 1952 :45 }

AGE AND CULTURE :  Late Archaic at approximately 500 B.C. Some earlier carbon -14 dates have put it as early as 2250 B.C.

DISTRIBUTION :  Colorado, Wyoming , Montana , South Dakota, Nebraska, Utah and Southeastern Saskatchewan. Similar points have been found as far as Western Oklahoma.
