FORT ANCIENT
GENERAL DESCRIPTION : This a small, slender, triangular arrow point with straight to slightly concave sides that may be straight or deeply serrated and can sometimes have a flaring base. Some points may be side notched.
AGE AND CULTURE : This type belongs to the Feurt focus of the fort Ancient culture, Mississippian entity with late woodland overtones, and dates approximately A.D. 1200 to near historic times.
DISTRIBUTION : Northern Kentucky, Southern Indiana and Southern Ohio, primarily along the Ohio river.
