Folsom
Paleo Period ~ 40,000 - 12,000 B.P.
Folsom points are found in the midwestern and western states. It is a small to medium size thin, fluted point with the fluting usually extending the entire length of each face. The quality of flaking is very good on Folsom points. Folsom is a very rare point to find, and many reproductions have been made, and are being sold as authentic.
This point type is often found in association with fossilized Bison bone, and Folsom points often exhibit considerable secondary flaking.
