AGEE
A corner notched arrow point often having straight to recurved edges. Some have
serrated edges Shoulders are barbed, barbs ranging from pointed to squared or
angular. The Stem is fan shaped; notches are usually narrow. The points range
from 5/8 of an inch to 2 1/2 inches in length. The Agee point was named by W.R.
Wood for the man who first recovered this type with burials in a small mound
located beneath a later Caddoan Mound at the Crenshaw site. Miller County
Arkansas.
Age and Culture : A late Woodland point dating from A.D.700 to A.D. 1000. Some Agee points might have been made by early Caddoan peoples.
Distribution : Late Coles Creek sites in Southwestern Arkansas, Northwestern Louisiana, Eastern Oklahoma, and North Eastern Texas.
