DICKSON POINTS


A medium to large point that has a truncated Contracting Stem. The Blade may have Concave, recurved or Convex edges. Named by Howard D.Winters for example found at the Ponds and Dickson Campsites in Dickson Mounds State park, Fulton County, Illinois.

Age and Culture:
Associated with Middle woodland Hopewell Culture 1000 B.C. to 350 A.D.

Distribution:
Classic Hopewell Sites in Michigan, Ohio, Missouri, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, Eastern Kansas, North Eastern Oklahoma, and Northwestern Arkansas
