
Description: Medium to Large Lance point, which exhibits slightly recurved blade edge. Base is flat, and basal grinding is light to heavy. Basal grinding is seen extending ½ - 1/3 of the blade. Blade constricts slightly in the basal hafting area. This is not to confused with stemmed lanceolate. This form has also been called Eastern Lanceolate in Waldorf, Story in Stone p. 46. Flaking is seen as random, percussion, and pressure. Thinning and fluting are not present in this typology. This form is mentioned in Overtstreet Arrowheads 7th Edition, p. 473, and is suggested as thinner than Clovis typology.
