HAYES
A small arrow point that has a long narrow blade with concave to recurved blade
edges and a needle like tip. Blade edges may be lightly serrated. Notches angle
inward from the V-shaped base just below the shoulders, creating flaring barbs
and a Diamond- Shaped or Turkey tail like base. this point was named by Alex D.
Krieger and H. Perry Newell. Used as true arrow points, Hayes points range in
size from 3/4" to 1-3/4" in length.
Age and Culture : Early Caddoan Mississippian times (c.1300 to 1500)
Distribution : Western Arkansas, Northwestern Louisiana, Northeastern Texas, and Southeastern Oklahoma.
