Harrell
GENERAL DESCRIPTION : This
small, thin triangular arrow point has side notches and a basal notch. Side
edges are straight to slightly convex and the basal edge is straight to
slightly concave. Notches are usually narrow and deeper than they are wide.
Similar and sometimes identical points are found in other parts of the
country. Such as the Cahokia point in Illinois and Missouri and the Desert
type in the West. The Harrell point was named by Dee Ann Suhm , Alex D.
Krieger and Edward B. Jelks { 1954 : 500 }
AGE AND CULTURE : Primarily
associated with prehistoric plains Caddoan groups dating from A.D. 1100 to
A.D. 1500.
DISTRIBUTION : Northern
Texas, Oklahoma , Kansas, Southwestern Missouri and Western Arkansas.
