Alabama Adena


 Description: A Florida point type, (Bullen 1975),

Adena points
of non-florida materials have been found in Florida but in this case we're talking about Adena's made of local Florida materials. Exhibits a long narrow blade with a needle tip and a narrow stem that's pointed or almost so. Found in sites with Sarasota, and other early Florida woodland points. Has been confused with narrow Marion points in some books and collections, isolated finds are hard to identify in most cases.
 

Age and Culture:
Associated with Late Archaic to Late Woodland Sites

Distribution: Eastern to Southeastern States
