About me!
I am a 41 year old
with 3 boys who share the same interest as me in hunting for
artifacts. I work for Mercedes Benz here in Vance, Alabama after
putting 19 years in the coal mines. Here recently I started
selling off my "northern stuff" as I call it and
started finding and buying southeast points which I have fell in
love with. I don't believe you can find any more
interesting points than the lithic wonders that come out of South
Alabama and Georgia and Florida. I love the river polished
pieces the best.
How I got started collecting!
I have been finding arrowheads since I was a kid but began to seriously hunt about 15 years ago when a cousin of mine found a couple of arrowheads while he was out squirrel hunting and he showed them to me. We decided to go back to the area he found them which was a clearcut he had went through. We found several more that day and the fever hit and I have been walking ever since. We now walk cutovers and clear cuts as well as field walking.
What I like to collect!
Anything from the
southeast. The bolens, boggys, lost lakes and the list goes
on and on. These points are truely awsome.
My favorite relic!
Ahhhh.......
that has to be the "blade". 11 and 3/16th inches
of archaic wonder. I purchased this blade from Alton
"Marty" Martin about 2 years ago. The
"blade" was found somewhere in the early 80,s along the
Chatahoochie River in Echo, Alabama. It was purchased from
the finder by Bobby Boone who kept it in his collection for 12
years. After going through another collector Marty wound up
withit and put it up for sale on his website. I fell for it
as soon as I saw it and that was all it took to spark me off on
southeastern points.
