About me!

I’m 45 years old and live in Western Kentucky. My occupation is a captain for a major river towing company running the Ohio, Cumberland and Tennessee rivers. Since I ride 28 days on boat (looking for camp sites) then 28 days off at home ( going and hunting camp sites) I’ve the best part time job for rock hunting ! Half the time scouting and the other half hunting. And they say you can’t love your job?

How I got started collecting!

Guess I’ll blame it all on my father. we lived in Evansville Ind while dad worked but always had a lodge/camp on Kentucky lake and we’d always drive down for weekends and such and when the lake levels would fall to winter pool dad would wrap us in warm cloth’s and life jackets and off “Island Hopping” we’d go.

What I like to collect!

I have yet found an Indian artifact that I do not like. I hunt such a diverse area of land type that we have paleo thru woodland sites. I look for all of them and enjoy finding all the types.

My favorite relic!

To date it’s a lavender color fluorspar ear bob. It’s my favorite for an Indian had to actually pierce his/her body to wear it. It’s something to hold something that old and know they had to place it in their ear. Not like an artifact they just carried with them.
