About me!
I am
an avid collector of Texas flint artifacts. Unless of
course, I can
find quality paleo artifacts from other regions of the
country. I am 52
years old and live in Austin, Texas near Lake Travis. My
occupation is
technical sales, with one of the leading high- tech companies in
Texas.
Our goal is to be able to make a living from our main
webpage. This is our
second year in business and we are getting close. My
Father, Ted Dunnegan
Jr, is a retired Electrical Engineer, and maintains the webpage
full-time
from his home in Gustine, Texas.
How I got started collecting!
I was first introduced
to artifact collecting back in the mid 50's by my
Uncle Ben Burks in Comanche County. He was an avid
fisherman and hunter,
who knew all the local collectors and farmers. We went from
sand field to sand field, walking the plowed furrows in search of
arrowheads. I can remember
running down the furrows picking them up one by one, literally
every 20
feet. This is not just another Texas Tale !!
My Favorite Relic!
My favortie artifact
is the big Andice shown on our website's front page at
Pat's Authentic Indian Arrowheads http://www2.itexas.net/~teddun/.
The tip and the stem have been restored. My imagination
sees an ancient
old fellow sticking the point of the Andice into a bone or piece
of meat
and twisting the blade and screaming as it snaps !!
It's thrown down
near the rock midden, and later retrieved from the buried
campsite near
the Pedernales River in 1991 at a depth of six feet.
