About me!
Hi I am
Jerry Herring, and I am 28 years old. I have been
married for 3 years, but no kids yet. Well, not human one's
anyway, we have 2 dogs and 1 cat. I am currently working as
a carpenter, but I am also trying to start a mobile home
park. We have two mobiles that are rented at this
time. I used to spend a lot of time hunting and fishing,
but I gave all of that up to hunt for artifacts.
How I got started collecting!
I found a few
arrowheads as a child, but was never really that interested in
hunting for them. Until 2 years ago a friend took me to an
island in the middle of the lake. we spent a whole summer
there finding broken pieces and very few whole artifacts. I
had even spent time snorkeling underwater to look for them.
After that summer I decided I would try to do more creek and
field hunting. I have studied maps for hours at a time
trying to find the perfect hunting spot. My wife and I spend all
of our free time hunting. Unless the weather is
bad, and that's when we turn to ebay.
What I like to collect!
I like them all, but I especially like drills and long blades.
My favorite relic!
My
favorite artifacts: I found the white drill and the nochta.
My wife found the green drill and the Adena. She found the
Adena 5 minutes out of the truck. As soon as she got it put
away she walked over and picked up the drill. These were
found in the same spot where I found an Angostura, that I sold
for $1,000. This is the spot that just keeps giving.
It is two creeks that run together with a hill in the middle.
We call it our "hotspot" and we always go there after a
hard rain.
