About me!
I live in Columbus
,Georgia on the Chattahoochee River, which divides Georgia and
Alabama. I ve been artifact collecting seriously since
1980.Scuba Diving in 20 rivers throughout Florida, Georgia and
Alabama for the last 14 years. My wife Debra and I have been
together 20 years and have two children. I own a commercial
janitorial service and am a senior sales manager with a high tech
environmental company which makes air and water purification
systems. I also help maintain an Artifact web site RIVERS OF TIME
(riversoftime.com) with my diving partner, Brett Stewart. I am also
an officer with the KOLOMOKI SOCIETY, member of ARROWPACK, and
CENTRAL STATES.
How I got started collecting!
I found my first arrow point at 7 years of age ,and always admired the American Indian. In 1980 I started surface hunting plowed fields in south Georgia and Alabama. In 1983 I started grubbing in creeks for points and metal detecting on old Indian Town sites.1986 is when I started Scuba Diving for artifacts and fossils.
What I like to collect!
I focus on Points and Blades of the deep Southeast. River Points are to me the most attractive of all. But anything with nice workmanship is desirable. I also value good bone artifacts like fishhooks, bone points, harpoons, awls, hairpins, etc. I also love Pleistocene Fossils like Mastodon, Mammoth, Giant Sloth etc.
My favorite relic!
A Double Cupped Tennessee Style
Discodial (Chunky Stone) found in April 1981, inside the city
limits of Columbus Georgia, 15 minutes from my house. It was
laying partially exposed in a plowed field next to the
Chattahoochee River. "WOW" what a day!

Also the 13 ½ inch long Pole Spud which I found in July of this year (2000) rates pretty high. I found it Scuba Diving in 14 feet of water in river.
