About me!

I'm 37 years old and a
school principal by profession. I have
maintained an intense
interest in amateur archaeology.
Before moving into administration I taught high school social studies for 9
years. My beautiful wife Colleen and I have three children that keep us
busy. My son, Austin, just started artifact hunting and found his first whole point at age 6.
His younger sisters aren't quite ready yet for field walking, but it won't be long.
How I got started collecting!
I've been
surface collecting authentic artifacts for over 25 years.
As a
youngster I was intrigued by the lithic tools that I was able to
pick up in
the plowed fields near my childhood home. Looking for
arrowheads seemed
as natural a pastime as any while growing up in the land of the
Senecas. My
fascination with prehistoric lithic artifact finds during my
adolescent
years eventually led me to pursue my B.A. degree in Anthropology
with an
Archaeology Specialization from the University at Buffalo. I
still spend as
much time as I can walking fields and river banks looking for
artifacts.
What I like to collect!
I have
concentrated mostly on assembling a collection of points
typically
found in the Northeast. I am always attracted to quality
points made of our native Onondaga chert. I am particularly fond of Genesee
and Brewerton points. I have personally found more Lamoka points than any
other type and really get excited about finding quality ground stone tools such
as beveled adzes.
My favorite relic!

Its always
difficult to pick just one so I have included a picture of a few
of my favorite Western NY personal finds, all made of Onondaga
chert.
A few pics!
