Nellie Chert

Nellie Chert is a variety of Upper Mercer flint, with it's source being in Coshocton Co. Ohio. It is dull silver gray in color, with a non-lustrous texture. There are often fine light gray to white streaks, giving the appearence of a wood grain. Most often found in Plano complex and Archaic period artifacts. The Nellie chert source is located in Coshocton county, Ohio, near the town of Nellie.
