Kanawha

Kanawha Black chert, similiar in appearence to Upper Mercer and Boggs of south East Ohio. Best known source is near Charleston, West Virginia. Color is typically dark grey to blue-black or reddish-black. Cortex is tan to yellow. Texture ranges from waxy to grainy. <
