Jasper
Jasper in the Ohio valley comes in shades of reds and yellows. The source is unknown, as assumed from glacial drift. Seldom seen in collections. Yellow Jasper has a semi-vitreous or matte surface lusture. It can have a touch of pink or red. Red Jasper is more a dusty maroon, with a soft waxy lusture. Both may include colors of each.
