Jasper
Jasper was widely used in the southcentral area with concetrated areas in NE Arkansas and NW Kansas. (There is also a Jasper to be found in Pa. Look under that section for it's description.) Jasper was used exstensively during the late/transitional Paleo period by Dalton and Jimmy Allen complexes. Later time periods also used this material that appears quarried in flat lenses. Often remnants of cortex remains on some of the points. It has varrying degrees of quality and is seen in colors from gold/tan, green, coffee and a deep almost hematite red. Normally opaque.
