Fort Payne

A south eastern flint, aka Muldraugh, aka Knobs chert. Similiar in appearence to Kenneth of Indiana. Fort Payne in Ky, Tn and Alabama is identical. Some outcrops occur in south-central Indiana and acros the Ohio River into Kentucky. The color can be tan to grey to brown, with a sploched or molted appearence with white. Texture is granular and has fossils of sponge and worm tunnels imbedded.
