Delaware Chert
Delaware occurs from south central Ohio to Lake Erie. Many exceptionally large artifacts came from the material, as it was abundant in thick layers. It is semi-chrty, totally opaque, earth colored. Sometimes has streaks of gray or darker brown. Fresh chippes are much darker and contrast with the dusty tan patina. Most commonly used for Lanceolate points in Ohio.
