Carter Cave
The source of Carter Cave is in Carter County Kentucky, close to Carter Caves. This part of Kentucky is loaded with limestone caves. This flint distribution ranges into Ohio and Indiana, and as far south as Tennesee. The dominant color is a orangish hue. Sometimes with streaks of blue to red maroons. The typical luster is waxy. It was most commonly used by the Paleo and Archaic peoples.
