Bloomville Chert

Bloomville is also know as Attica chert, and Honey Creek. Outcrops along Honey Creek near the town of Attica and Bloomville in Seneca County, Ohio. Colors vary from white to grays. Heat treatment can produce hues of red and pink. Texture is earthy and chalky to porcelan like. Not widely used as it is tough to work, as it includes many types of fossils.
