AACA Conflict Mediation Board

To resolve any problems that may arise between members. It was decided that the board would review any conflict involving a member who is not following the rules of the AACA, or should a conflict arise between a "member seller" and a buyer which could not be resolved between the two (2) parties themselves. It was decided that before any action is taken against a member, a majority of board members must agree that a violation has occurred. The board will then attempt to resolve the situation fairly.

If you have any questions, please contact any board member.

Questions and Answers:

Q: Can I use the "Conflict Mediation Board" even if I’m not a member?

A: Yes if the seller is a member of AACA, he must adhere to the rules, we only ask that you attempt to resolve the conflict yourself before asking for the boards  help.

Q: Can the "Conflict Mediation Board" get my money back for me?

A: We can not guarantee that a refund will be paid to you. However we will attempt to settle the matter in a professional manner. If it is determined the buyer is in the right, and the seller refuses to make things right with the buyer, membership of the seller in AACA will be revoked.

Q: What happens if a membership is revoked, and the former member continues to use the AACA logo?

A: Ebay will be notified of the fraudulent use of our logo. Since we are in no way affiliated with eBay, we would have no control of how they may handle the issue. AACA reserves the right to file fraud charges for mis-use of its logo. We also reserve the right to change logo URL's at any time. If a logo URL is changed all current members will be notified of the html changes.

Q: Can a member sell modern or re-chipped artifacts?

A: Yes they may. However as stated in the rules, they must make notice of this condition, and offer the standard 14 day minimum return policy.

Q: Can a member sell modern or re-chipped artifacts on eBay without posting as an AACA member, and not offer any of the benefits provided by AACA?

A: No a member is already recognized as a member, and would be projecting the appearance of a double standard for the AACA.

Q: Do I have to give my name when I file a complaint?

A: You will file your concern  with any AACA Board Member, this will be seen only by the Board. If you request your name not be given out we will honor that request. However it may deter the effectiveness of the Board. This will be up to you to decide.

Q: What if I have a complaint against one of the AACA Board Members?

A: The Board members are members just the same and must adhere to the rules as everybody else. No Exceptions! You will file your concern in the same manner and it will be handled by the twelve remaining board members.

Q: Does this apply to sales other than Ebay auctions?

A: Yes, however at this time we will only be dealing with sales done over the internet, as we feel that we can not police sales made in the private sector.

Q: If I see an AACA member not offering at least a 14 day return or other violation of the "Rules of Conduct" should I report it?

A: Yes. Please first review the other sales offered by the member to make sure that they have not just slipped up on one posting. We all need to police ourselves, yet not become picky when honest mistakes have been made. Drop the person a friendly E-mail, asking if they realize the error. If you do not get a positive response, please advise the Board immediately.

Q: Can I be dropped from membership for misuse of the "Conflict Mediation Board"?

A: Yes - We will try to resolve real issues that can’t be resolved between the buyer and seller. We however will not become involved in personal vendetta's!
